Bird Scent

Sunny smells sweet, like baby breath and butter. When he's wet, I swear he smells like wood. Strangest thing. But I love it.
What do your birds smell like???

Iris (CAG) has a naturally clean scent. It's like a breath of freash air and oh how I love when he eats starwberries because he'll hold that scent for a day or two.

I notice that Eclectus seem to have a scent of their very own. Has anyone else ever notice this with their eclectus? I cant explain the scent but I've handled several eclectus from several different breeders and they all seem to smell a like. It's almost like a baby formula scent.

My quaker smelled had a very light sent of hay when he was a baby. It has gotten less but sometimes I can still smell it. I think it's a hay-like buttery smell.

Our WCP, Gracie has a slightly musky smell that changes depending on her mood.
When happy or excited it has a slightly sweeter tang.
When she's angry or upset it's stronger & has more of an acrid edge to it.

Wow!!! This is a very interesting topic. It has always been one of those things that I never thought to bring up because I was thinking that it was just me and my birds. I always wondered why Iris (CAG) smelled much different than Clover (Ekkie). I am really enjoying reading all the replies.

Our tiels and our conure just smell feathery to me but Sunny sometimes has peanut breath if I've given him a peanut as a treat. Also, he had a dried hot pepper the other day and kissed me and my mouth was on fire!
