An autopsy would be easiest to find out why he died, though I am sorry to hear this. Do know though that you tried. It's hard to do things accordingly to what others say, especially if your resources may be limited.

I did think about an autopsy...
I gather they're vaguely expensive, though, and I felt really weird and giddy for a bit and not very up to suggesting it...
After all, I wouldn't feel comfy burying a pet not in one piece, and much as with larger animals that can probably be easily done, budgies are so light and small that I figured even if the people doing the autopsy were willing to try to... Neaten it after, it wouldn't be very effective, and I'd feel weird with him like that even if I didn't have to see it before burying him... I should have really at least tried to find out if it was an option, but wasn't thinking clearly enough... |

No...My Tludgy died.....
I am sorry to read that Tludgy has passed away.
Budgies a somewhat more fragile since their systems are much smaller. The only way to determine what caused his untimely death is by a necropsy but then it is possible not to find the cause. Please don't be so hard on yourself. Many budgies often die at an early age. Genetics are important for them and there is so much inbreeding in these birds that is the cause of shortened life spans, genetic problems, cancers as well as tumors so this can be something unrelated to your care of him and out of your control. |
