Birds survived the emergency

I just wanted to post an update.
All of our birds survived the burning plastic incident. I'm so relieved!

I'm going to be microwaving my tea water from now on, I think. (I wont have much choice in the short term since I had to throw the kettle away.) I'm just too absent minded, especially in the evening - it's too big of a risk.

I also wanted to post to say thanks to the couple of you who called - that was very kind, and very much appreciated! It's wonderful to know there are others out there who care what happens to these birds who I'm blessed to have in my care, even if they've never met them (or me). Thanks so much! And thanks too for posting back so quickly, here on the board! I just really appreciate the support.
