Lori- About Charm

I saw in another thread you said he was "smaller than a timneh"...now when I'm looking at pictures of him I'm thinking he's MUCH smaller than a timneh...I just can't picture him being big!

Do you have any pictures of him by something like a pop can, or a mug for size comparison? I've never seen a Pi before so I'm very interested!

Yes, I would also like to know roughly how big the Pionus is. Hubby keeps asking me to find pictures of the birds that I want next to something so that we can get an idea of their relative size. I told him that I don't think they are all that large, but he wants pictures to confirm.

Sure I just took a picture of him next to a coffee mug. And I just measured him from tip of tail to tip of beak and he is EXACTLY 10 inches

He's bigger than a sun conure, a little smaller than a Timneh, smaller than a goffins cockatoo. Geez I'm trying to think what other bird is his size and I can't. I've heard that White front amazon's are only 10 inches but I doubt many have seen one in person other than Smallion and her mom of course. Anything else you'd like to know? I'm am very smitten with him. To me he is the perfect bird. Don't let the "others" know I feel this way, they all think they are my favorite

Oh I just looked up the Timneh, now it says they are about 12 inches long and weigh 300-360 grams. Now Charm is 10 inches and when I got him he weighed 280 grams but at his last vet appointment was down to 212 grams.

Thanks for the pictures! I'm going to send those to my husband so he can get an idea - I think a bird this size would fit into his idea of an ideal bird for us. I just love Charm, he's such a cutie!

He is much bigger than I've been picturing in my mind. Thank you for the picture! How is his crop today?

Edit: nevermind, I just read the thread about it...
