I've used them for Quakers with great success. Because I've never used them 'tiels, I don't have any idea how they'd react.

My Quaker, Chaska adores her happy hut. She is so cute, the way she puts herself to bed every night. I put a happy hut in the main bird room with the Teils and Princesses and none of them will use it. Chaska uses it if I put her in there on weekends just to get away from the others but I always return her to her own cage to sleep at night.

I use on for my lovie, he adores it we call it the Squeak Cave.
I only put the hut in at birdie bed time at which time I give Squeaky his nighty night kisses he climbs right into the hut settles in and is ready for bed.

The only bird I have here that uses a Happy Hut is my quaker, Tilde. I doubt that he could actually sleep without his Hut. It is also his "amore" and we then call it his "Humpy Hut".

My quaker, Pumpkin, was afraid of it.

Btw, how do you clean it? Do you need to wash it every morning. I notice in the morning there is a big pile of poop below where Pumpkin has slept so I'm assuming he would be pooping all night in the happy hut and would need daily washing. Just curious.

Birds normally hold their poop in the entire night unless they are disturbed. If they hold it in all night though it is going to be big in the morning. In which case though that it needs cleaning, it's good to have a second one while the first one is in the washer being cleaned...

I've tried one... and the only birds who payed attention to it were the budgies... or rather Smurf... and like Nancy says, it became a "Humpy Hut" to put it nicely!

Our lovebird loves her Happy Hut. If she poops during the night, she is usually smart enough to hang her butt over the side and hit the bottom of the cage. We just put ours in the washer when it's dirty.

I use it on my smaller fids.. my GCC loved hers...
Higgins- that boy cant sleep without his. I take it out during the day to give him more room in his cage, one night I forgot to put it back in... my bad... poor boy cried all night, I got up to all these little whimpers.... pitiful really. He puts himself to bed every night, head hanging out. Too cute.
