African Grey in Aus?

I've been looking through google about African Greys in Australia and nothing really has told me that they are sold here. Are they common in Australia or arnt they sold here?

I apologize in advanced if this question has been asked.

EDIT: Just found a site on it and it sais they are sold here but for a lot of money.

Some birds are very expensive and hard to get in Australia. The prices on some birds though are coming down, but others haven't since it takes so long for the birds to breed and for the chicks to become weaned... and that they don't raise very many chicks at one time...

African greys sell for about $4000 - $6000 depending on where you live in Australia or the breeder and handraising. I have just recently spoken to someone who I think lives in NSW and he said he has seen them for sale for $4000 handraised. I have seen them for sale for around $6000. I did not take too much more notice after I saw the price tag...............I will just dream.

macaws can sell around (blue and gold) the $6000 - $8000. The breeder I got Rani (alexandrine) from said he knows of a breeder who sells them for around $6000, which I commented, was pretty cheap.

Tracey, that is a pretty good price for here. Have you heard of any "deals" on Caiques? I called a breeder who advertised in Aviary Life and he has the cheapest he has heard is $4000 for a young male.

OMG $4000 for a caique. I had no idea they were so expensive. I also have no idea how much they are, but will keep my eyes peeled now.............even if just for curiosity.

Are you thinking of becoming a new mummy again. You never know we could be discussing our babies again later in the year.
