It's A Boy!
It's official--
"Bob", my BG macaw, has his official DNA results--he really IS a boy :-). Whew! *grins* Bob's your Uncle (the Brits in the group oughtta understand.... :-)!

Well, good thing it's a boy. You wouldn't want to scar a little girl for life by giving her a boy's name!

Oh, I dunno.... a wrong-gender name didn't seem to hurt "Marion" (John Wayne), A Boy Named Sue (Johnny Cash song), or my sister, Donna, who much prefers a masculine role in life.... :-).
I LIKE boys! 2 sons (1 daughter), 7 male dogs (only 4 females), lots of brothers, hardly any sisters, etc., so I'm pleased as punch that the bird I've always thought of as "he" really IS :-). It would've been a bit of work on my part to start thinking of him as a "her"! Plus, my grown daughter likes being the only "Princess" in my life :-).

I agree, I always like to know too. I would feel funny using him or her pronouns if I didn't know the bird's real sex.

That's great that he has the appropriate name. Although Bobbi would have worked too. My GWM was a girl for 15 years....then he was a boy. I kept his name, just changed the spelling to Kady. But everyone that hears the name still calls him a girl.
