Birdie Love II

While at the bird store today a woman brought a military macaw and a greenwing for consignment. Beautiful and sweet birds, but I don't know the circumstances. The GW (Kokomo, female) was sitting quietly on a perch when one of the young ladies working there, walked by with Taz, a very attractive Harlequin. The GW perked up and started to talk to Taz, Hi... How are you... whatcha doin... I was just waiting for the "You want a good time sailor?" I was amazed at her reaction to him. He on the other hand, was less than impressed. The girl was going about her work stocking toys with Taz on her shoulder, every time she walked past the GW, Kokomo would perk up, start talking and follow them the full length of the perch. I've heard of birds bonding but I've never seen a reaction like that between two birds with no previous history.

I have a pair of bonded male BG macaws. From the moment Dreamie laid eyes on Sailor, he was totally smitten. It was truly instantaneous. I've also seen the reverse where birds will hate each other right from the start. I also have that situation here with Taco and Chi Chi. She'd kill him in a heartbeat.

The same thing happened here with Elwood & Tinker. She went head over heels with him, and since them I am out of the picture!
