Well I am tired of looking at the empty cage.........as Sophie will be another two weeks at least before she can home, she sure is taking her time weening!! I actually found a place local I can buy the material for my poorboy cages phase 2 I didn't expect to find anything near by and it is even cheaper!. I am gonna hunt the net for toys, food bowls, swings and stuff! I haven't been real happy with what I have found around here. Ok this is way off track for the first part of this thread.....Zoey, my Senegal, doesn't care a less about toys, perches or anything when she is out of the cage. Her soul concern is ME. She will go and seek a moment of attention from my wife but still has no concern for any toys. Even if I leave her on her play station she just follows me with her eyes and waits for me to come get her. I guess what I am getting at is, is this normal? Running on hear say my mind tells me she should be involved with gadgets and boings and such. She is just over a year old now. I love it to pieces too by the way.....as long as its healthy!!

Your Sophie should be weaned by now. She should be at home with you and enjoying her new life. Why is the weaning taking so long?
This just doesn't sound right to me.
Sennies usually wean at 8 to 10 weeks of age.

Sophie is an eclectus! She's going to take much longer to wean than a sennie!

If you are worried about Zoey not playing with toys, try playing with them yourself and have a ball! Wait till Zoey becomes interested, and just let her get close to it but not touch it. Have some fun, and do it a few more times. Then when she seems REALLY interested give it to her!
