Black cages show a lot of dust, especially if you have dusty birds (I don't know about Eclectus, but I'm sure someone else does)...
I currently have a black cage for my CAG; he used to be in a white cage...I like the black a lot better, even though he is a dusty fellow. |

I do not like dark cages at all. I have a black and a hunter green and they both show dust and droppings as though you were shining a bright light on them. I have found that I like the granite or champaign colors best. As far as what goes best with the bird,
that never really concerned me as I'm not much on decorating and fashion. If I wanna show off the bird, I'm gonna take it out of the cage anyway. JMO.

i have gray cages(grey/black antique coloring) Which I like very much.
I have two white cages, that do show the colors of the toys very much, however, when they chip, its very obvious!!! I have two green colored cages that I like also. I ordered Emma Lynn a Avian adventures Ruby red gloss cage. I will probably not like it because of the dust factor. I have three greys, and three tiels. My bird room is pretty dusty. However, the ruby red will look very good with her pretty red butt i also have a red carrier...for the same reason**LOL** My little girl is a fashion Diva....weather she knows what that is or not

Interesting... I have 2 hunter green, 2 white and a grey cage... (dark grey). I would have to say that I really like the dark grey and the green best. Why? Well- even though they are dark, they are not black black, if that makes any sense. While the white is nice and neutral, it gets dirty VERY easily, I mean, it shows every little spot. The grey and greens dont. Also, even with the dust factor, I didnt see my grey and greens appear to show much dust... (I currently have a grey, and I did a long term foster on a goffins too). Also, when the cages chip on the darker colors, its not that obvious...
I really like the darker colors better... Try to get a cage in a "vein" color- silver vein, black vein, etc... that way its not stark. My green cages are a green vein- hunter green with a nice slight silverish white vein. While it hardly sounds noticable, if you compare it to a stark green cage, you will notice the softer tone. Most cages are avialable in vein colores. |
