will Mango approve

im thinking of buying a B&G, but am worried weather Mango my CAG would approve. Iv always realy wanted a baby B&G and iv found a breeder who is a friend of a friend that will giv me one for hallf of the normal price. but i realy do lov mango very much and would not want to jepordize our relationship in any way.
any advise would be appreciated specially from people who have bothe species who interact with each other.

Will he approve? Probably not. You are his human, he is your bird. He likes it that way. He likes the attention he gets from you and being your one and only. If you bring a new bird into your house, yes, he will probably not be very happy about it.

But parrots are adaptable, and he will get used to it. He may even learn to like your new bird. I think it's good for birds to have other birds around that they can see and hear, even if it's not the same species.

It's good that you're taking his feelings into consideration before you make this decision, but unless your bird is particularly needy to where you wouldn't have time at all for another bird, I don't think you should base your decision on what your bird might like or might not like. Just make sure, bringing a new bird into the house, you give equal attention to both of them, if not a little more to your grey to make sure he knows he is still loved and special.

My cockatiel was an only bird. She was onery and her taming was going slowly. We brought Beeper home, and they started competing for attention. I believe that her taming process was speeded because of that competition, and now we can give her scritches... I believe because she saw us giving them to Beeper.

Then we brought Sam home, and Beeper was upset. But he got over it. As it turns out, Sam and Cami have become pretty good friends. During the day, both my husband and I work and the birds can see and talk to each other, as they live in separate cages in the same room. I think this is really good for them, and I am glad I have a multi-bird, multi-species home.
