upside down bird

This bird is just determined to give me gray hairs before the age of 20. She hangs upside down from the little hook on the bottom of her blue bell and swings back and forth. She has fallen all the way to the bottom of her cage twice, landing smack on her back. Is she just trying to kill herself?? Are your birds this crazy and accident prone??

Here is a picture of the bell in question...I can never catch her hanging there though. She kind of is here...one foot on the bell, one foot on the top of the cage...

I have noticed the CAGs and TAGs at the store drop from hanging toys all of the time.

Caesar, my zon, nad my baby sun, Kiri do that. There's one toy Caesar adores and every once in a while he'll fall to the bottom of his cage. He actually cut himslef right above his cere. No blood or anything, just a flap of skin. Kiri, she's ALWAYS hanging from the top of her cage and falling. She especially likes hangin from one foot. I think she's part bat! LOL! Little goofball!

LOL My CAG loves hanging upside down from her cage- actually, thats the only way she plays. The only time she shreds anything is shredding cardboard, which is sitting on top of her cage, while she is hanging upside down, inside her cage. She refuses to chew wood, or anything else for that matter- but give her cardboard, paper or a phonebook and she has a blast. But it must be hanging upside down....

Yes it seems like every few weeks Ollie has a new boo-boo right above her cere. It's never been bad, just a little scrape and it'll be a little pink. I'm glad to know my CAG is no clumsier than anybody else's!

My caiques hang upside down all of the time. I could bet a whole pay check that at any point in time, you could walk into my bird room and those two buggers will be upside down playing with each other lol. I have seen them fall many of times, but I figured that they must like it or they would not do over and over and over and over and over.

Marley does it, too. And I worry about him getting hurt when he falls as well. He does fall quite often hanging and swinging by one foot. I don't know what it is about those bells on the bottom of the toys, but he LOVES to hang by them. He looks funny, too. He'll stick his beak in the bell to get the little part that makes the noise and it looks like he's got the bell stuck on his beak at times. There's a red bell on the bottom of his boing that he's particularly fond of and I keep a trashcan under the boing to catch the poop. I can't tell you how many times I've dug him out of that trash can because he's fallen and he can't get up. I'm glad to know it's not just my bird too:-)
