New bird!

I am so glad to finally be back on this forum! Just hit one of those crazy patches in life where there just isn't any time to do the fun stuff, but it's great once it's over :) We visited family for 2 weeks, I got a new job, and all that kind of stuff, but the best part is that we got a new bird! A little baby green cheeked conure that we named Oliver.

I had posted sooo many questions here looking for help in deciding what kind of bird to get, so thank you so much for everyone's suggestions. I don't think I ever would have even thought of a conure since I always put them out of my mind because we live in an apt. and I thought they would all be too loud. Oliver is pretty quiet though so no problems, well, he does have his moments in the morning where he likes to remind us all that he is a conure, but he subsides rather quickly.

Actually, I had decided on a linnie and even put a deposit down on one, but sadly, the little chick didn't make it. Then I visited a local avian rescue and there were 4 baby green cheeks needing homes! Luckily I had heard enough about them here to know they would be a good fit for me and it's been happily ever after! Well, you know...mostly. Getting through this nippy phase will be very nice!
