Yeah, I've been there (in Pigeon Forge, TN) and it is a very awesome place. His birds are waaaaaayyy overpriced, though. But I absolutely LOVE going there...we go several times a year...anytime we're in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg areas. The folks who own the place are great people and really love those birds.

Thanks for posting this. I'm not sure how long of a drive that would be for me, but can't be too long. Well, yea, maybe it can. I will look it up and look into it. Is it a place you should go during the summer vs. the winter?

They close down in late October or early November (depending on temperatures) and re-open in April (I think). We were there last for my birthday in mid-October and they were only going to be open for another week. They've got the birds (except for the ones in the nursery) outside on perches and temps can get very cold in the mountains during the winter, so they just close up through the winter months.

Here's their website:

Hubby and I went 3 years ago in June. It was awesome! I could have hung out there all day. We had a little trouble finding the place, even with the locals directions but that isn't anything unusual for us when traveling. If you are in the Pigeon Forge area, it is a MUST see for parrot lovers. Hey, the shopping in the area ain't bad either.

That's my point. Once I get Freddie there, he's trapped. If I can spend 2 hours in our local pet store once a week, I can pretty much guarantee you we'll be there for at least 4 hours.
Don, that would be an M2 on my head next to Rico. You dog
