Question Florida bird book

I am looking for a good book to help me identify birds here in Florida. Has anyone read any of these ?
http://www.nsis.org/books/books-birds.html#id
Any suggestions would be helpful !

There was hundreds maybe thousands of birds in my backyard today as well as in the woods behind my work. They were so high in the trees I couldn't get a good look. When they flew overhead they had red bellies. I have never seen so many and so loud ! Probably because of the cold front coming in. It's driving me crazy trying to figure out what they are. Many times I wished I had a book. Want to purchase one this weekend. Thanks ! Faith

The Smithsonian Handbooks Birds of North America is good. They make them for different regions of the country. I have the one for the eastern region of the U.S. It has good pics for identification of the bird, as well as the differences in plumage during different times of the year, in juveniles, males vs. females, etc. It also includes a small reference map of where the bird is located, as well as where it migrates (if within the U.S.) and what part of the year it is located in a particular area. Describes the song of the bird, behavior, breeding, nesting, population, flight patterns, conservation, nest identification, habitat, weight, etc. I found it at the local Barnes and Noble. It had the best array of information that I could find.

It also says on the back that you can view their entire product line at www.dk.com. I'm not sure what I paid for the book, but the price on the back is $25.00 USD.

Here is mine: http://us.dk.com/nf/Book/BookDisplay...471566,00.html

You can also view some pages from the book on www.amazon.com. They have 43 used and new copies available from $12.52.
