That's great you found each other. However, I have to point this out: Please be very careful with Bob and your Too. Many BGs have real problems with Too dust. And, if he proves sensitive to her dust, it could cost him his life in about 5 years. Keep them in seperate parts of your home and be sure to run air cleaners. Its very important. Once the damage is done, you cannot "fix" it.

You're not gonna believe this.....
Oh yes, I would!!!
From an honest prospective, I try not to sell those Cockatoos unless I am convinced that the person knows what they are getting into. They do make good pets but they do have to fit one's personality. I do have a U2 but I am not a Cockatoo person. Okay, so he is my "Godson" who is now my "son". Very loved, protected with all the bird toys he could want. He gets lots of attention here that he needs but boy, can he scream for the attention! I have figured out that he was abused in his first home but he came to me from his second home. It took me a year to modify his behavior and he hasn't attacked anyone (male) in three years. He gets to see his former owner and you can say we are co-parenting but he is loved and one day I hope his previous owner can take him back. They adore each other! All I can say is....."Bless you" for wanting to take in a Cockatoo in need of love and attention. May you be rewarded with all the joys of Cockatoo ownership and blessed with the joy they bring into our lives. Alice |

How wonderful that you could offer the U2 a much needed home. I'm sure in time she will adjust just fine. When you first posted about Bob, it brought to mind one of my favorite movies with Bill Murray, "What about Bob." So with that on my mind everytime I read one of your posts, if she were mine, I would name her "Faye", who was Dr. Leo Marvin's wife in the movie.

Thank you for your kind words and suggestions. I'm going to have to see that movie with Bill Murray--I'm a fan of his, but for some reason I've never seen that movie. Faye and Pixie are both very nice names, and I'll put them on the list.
The Outlaw--yes, I am aware of the problems with dusty birds and B&Gs, so the new 'too is being housed far, far away in another room with two doors between her cage and Bob's. There is a hepa filter in that room already. Their contact will be limited, and only after the lady has a shower :-). Cockatoos fit my personality just fine--they seem to be the "border collies" of the bird world--high strung, intelligent, always needing something to do, loyal, loving and always interesting. I have 7 Border Collies, if that tells you anything :-). Thanks again for your concerns, advice and kind words. They are always welcome and appreciated.
