Angel's Update

So, for those that don't know, angel is a blue and gold macaw, given to me because her old owner could not handle her and she is said to be "aggressive."

She still bites me, not hard, but just so she can scream "OUCH!" afterwards, and say "KNOCK IT OFF! STOP BEING BAD!"

She learns new worlds by the leaps and bounds, and is starting to sound just like me... lol

Now? Me and her are getting along just great.. I think she wants to be a cuddly bug.. but doesnt really know how to be.. for instance, she'll attempt to crawl in my lap, then crawl back out.. then nip me.. weirdo.. lol

These days, she'll get off of her cage and look for me.. and when she finds me, attemps to crawl on me.. lol

I just took these pictures today when I was sitting on the computer chair, she of course, wants to be with me.. but doesnt know how to act, she'll sit on the back, crawl down to the arm, onto the desk, bite me, then precede to destroy the plants, and do the same thing over again, kind of hard to get any work done on the computer.. lol.. enjoy

Oh wells.. I'll just climb on here chair so she'll get a big surprise when she comes back.. lol

What cute pictures. I'm so glad she's getting better about the biting. Sometimes birds can learn bad behaviors as a means to get attention. You might want to teach her to touch a target stick for a treat and attention, instead of biting.

yeah i think angel learned the biting from her previous owner.. she's gotten much better.. it's hard to ignore her, when there's other people there that laugh when she bites and says ouch.. so now she even laughs after she scolds herself.. lol

she's like a little kid!

how do i go about training her to target a stick? even when i sweep near her, she loves to watches.. but when someone else sweeps near her.. she gets nervous... lol

You are doing so well. I know you won't even recognize this bird in 6 months. I love BGs. They are still my most favorite parrot. I think they just like people and really want to be a friend.
