More perching questions

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I thought I'd run it by you guys anyway.

For some time, I've had 2 perches in Spencer's cage. One of either side of the cage, one near the food and one near the water. Since Spencer is doing so much better with perching, I've decided to put a perch a little higher in the cage. As soon as I did this, Spencer worked his way up to the higher perch, then didn't move. Not to eat or to drink. There were no problems with eating and drinking when it was just the lower perches. Do you think I should just forget about the higher perch?

Don, I had the same problem with Ollie a few months ago. I removed the high perch, thereby forcing her to sit by her food and water. Now that she is weaned and eating her pellets I have it back in there.

I would take it out for a few months until she has been weaned for awhile. Then try putting it back in there and see if she will continue eating.
