How to prevent hand biting from B&G
My B&G has been biting (not hard at all, just with some pressure) with his beak while perching on my hand. How do I NOT encourage this behavior? It's not really a habit yet, but he has been doing it here and there.

It might help to tightly wrap an ace bandage around your hand and lower arm. It might help to put your hand into a tight fist as well. When he bites, tell him "No bite". It sounds more like he's testing you. If you are in a room away from his cage and he continues to test him, try putting him on the floor and walking away. In a few moments come back and see if he acts any better.

Young macaws naturally are beaky. The best thing to do is to hold the beak in your fingers and say "NO" sternly. Don't hurt him, but be real clear that your aren't pleased. If he continues, give him a time out in his cage. You have to control it now or you'll be wrestling with him for years.
