I tried it on two seperate occasions for my african grey and my plucking BG. Neither did any better with it in their diets, its smells awful, and I even had trouble getting my birds to eat the stuff. I think it was a waste of my money. However, that's probably because my birds weren't deficient in whatever it adds in the first place.

I certainly hope it's not a needed ingredient to a good diet. I have a bottle of it here. Here being the operative word. My bird will take a taste of it when I put it on something and not return to it. I have tried serving it about 10 times now, with the same result. The smell is nauseating and stain it leaves is horrible.

I bought the puree from Drs. Foster and Smith. They HATED it too.

My birds all love the stuff. I also buy the whole fruits & puree for them as well. One of their favourite way to get the oil is a little spread on a piece of wholegrain toast.

I got my palm oil last nite and put a small bit on Noah's supper and he gobbled it right down. The oil I have does not taste or smell bad at all. I ordered it online and paid quite a bit more than it is in the Foster and Smith catalog. Is the higer price oil better or am I just thinking wrong?
For those of you that do use it do you give it to the fids daily? Linda
