after a trip to the breeders........

My lil Sophie has packed on another 10 grams!!! 455g. She is quite healthy and has received the "ok" to not have to go visit the breeder any more! I guess that means I actually have to GET a gram scale and not just ask about them.......
I took pictures of her eating but left the camera select on micro (?) so it took a great photo of the cage bars and left her messy face in a blur. hehe

Jim:

I'm very impressed with your breeder. I didn't realize they had asked you to continue bringing her in after the sale. Shows they are commited to their birds.

Yay Sophie!

Jim, I LOVE weighing Ollie! It's a morning ritual we do- although unnecessary to do it that often, it's getting her used to scales!

Jim, that's great news! It sounds like you dealt with an awesome breeder that really cares about the birds. I'm glad you passed "New Bird Owner 101."

Camille, I know we have the same type of scale. I am having fits with my scale here. Is there any way to adjust it so it's not so sensitive? It's been a big help...NOT.. to monitor Kady's weight. He weighs somewhere between 1145 and 1175, the numbers fly by so fast and go up and down, I'm dizzy.

Yes Mark of Fox's feather farm is very concerned and caring about his birds. Ironic thing is is his ex wife runs the local bird store (since they split) Woodie's, and is where I got Zoey a year ago. She too does the weekly weigh ins to make sure the bird is doing ok. I don't think I have the guts to tell either one of them where I got my other birds................

Hmmm...my scale moves around a bit when Ollie moves, but I have taught her to be really still. She knows that the sooner she quits moving, the sooner she gets to get off and go eat! Does Kady's tail hit the counter when you are weighing him? That could be causing some of the jumpiness. Just try to make a weird noise when he is on there so he will go still and listen. That usually works for Ollie...
