I have been subscribed to Bird Talk Magazine for a few years now and I think it is a good resource to have. I think it has informative articles, although it does seem to repeat the species specific articles. There is usually vet listings and classified ads in the back of each issue. And in addition, BirdTalk has annual guides to quality playgyms, cages, gifts, etc.

It is also a good source of cute bird pictures!

I used to grab a copy whenever I was at the book store, I was just too lazy to send in the subscription order.......Finally I just did it online w/a credit card. It saves SO MUCH money than buying it every month from the bookstore!! I got my first issue yesterday and haven't put it down yet!!! The center fold was an african grey-and that's A LOT better than any old naked chick any day (not that I look at those, but my b/f's eyes lit up when I asked if he had seen this months centerfold )!!!

I say go for it.....I'm SO GLAD that I FINALLY did!

I read bird talk too, but I find some of their articles are a little short (at least for this realitivly new bird owner/d). I recently picked up BIRD USA(?) thought it was pretty good too, anyone read any other good mags?

Anyway, agreed birdtalk is a pretty good mag, my birds loves it at least !

You can also buy back issues of "Bird Talk" at bird shows and on eBay. They have a wealth of info and great human-avian interest articles.

I prefer Companion Parrot Quarterly, not much in the way of pictures, most of them are artwork, but great informative articles.
