budgie breeding season and when to seperate the babies

I was wondering I got a pair of budgies in September and they fell deeply in love.( kissing, preening each other, won't come out of the cage with out each other, ect.) Can somebody tell me when budgie's breeding season starts and ends? And when to take away the hatchlings? If you can please answer asap. Thanx bye

Budgie breeding season

The breeding season is now.
The babies will come out of the box when they are about 7 to 8 weeks usually. Dad will teach them how to eat but you need to pull the babies from the cage as soon as they are eating on their own. Mama bird doesn't want anything to do with them after a few days out of the box and she is ready to breed again quickly. If not pulled and the babies try to get back into the box Mama may kill the babies so you need to watch them closely.

If you are interested in breeding you need to read up on everything that you can as well as all the pros and cons...

In captivity there is no set breeding time, though depending on where you live and the temps as well as daily sunlight do have influences on when birds become hormonal. Chicks normally wean 2 weeks after they come out of the nestbox however it's not always so... they need to be weaned on to a varied diet including fresh foods.

I think it is best for you to get all the information on breeding before you begin.
Do you want to hand feed? Have you? Do you have someone that will teach you? Syringe or spoon feeding?
You can also let the parents raise and handle babies when they are old enough instead of hand feeding them. A thought.

It is better to wait until the birds are ready to breed themselves, not a good idea to try to get them to breed.

Do a search on "Full Spectrum Lighting" in the search box at the top of the page.

Right under the BirdBoard header (the box with birds in it), there is another box below that... and at the top it says 'Search'. Click on that and do a search.
