New birdfeeder and camera...

O.K. So I have noticed more hawks around lately and suspected a nest with babies nearby. Yesterday my honey was outside the sliding door motioning me to come while doing the "shhhh" thing. I grabbed my crappy camera and went to see. There was a baby redhawk in the tree say 9 ft or so above us. I just watched, even talked to it as it preened and just took a look around for quite a while. It didn't mind us at all. I took several pictures even though in the display it was dark and distorted. Uggghhh.....when I transferred them it was a blob in the shape of a bird I was sooooo disappointed. So I purchased this today http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 I know it is better than what I have and hopefully will do. That is if it arrives O.K from a power seller refurb . Also, I bought a birdfeeder for my front yard and noooo birdies yet ! I even took the birdbath and placed it underneath with some seed. I was hoping to attract the new family of woodpeckers. Only squirrels so far. It has been 4 days. Should I move it, or wait ??? Plenty of birds around here ! It is a cylinder clear one with the holes and perches next to them.

The type of bird feeder that you bought sounds like it was meant for goldfinches???

Easiest way to attract birds in the wild is to put the birdfeeders near a tree in near small bushes and shrubs. If it's out in the open they may have less of a chance coming to the feeder as it would attract hawks and whatnot...

Also, a good way to attract wood peckers is to hang up suit feeders...
