Look What Bob Got :-).

This past Saturday, we attended an exotic bird fair. We got there when the doors opened and went straight to the perches (it's why we went, after all). We purchased the first one of the day--a huge monster of a perch measuring 4' 9" L x 5' T x 2 1/2 ' W. Bob and Gracie love it! Here's some pix of Bob enjoying himself on his new toy:

Oooo.... big blue eagle wings!

He's really enjoying his perch time today!

While we're at it, here's Gracie enjoying herself, and Petey on top of his new hanging perch. It measures 3'T x 3' L x 1 1/2' W:

Bob's Perch

Hey Stubby Jack;

Looks like I didn't get the full perch in any of the pix, but here are a couple to give you an idea of scale. Hope that helps. I don't have any that are directly side-on, due to the light in the room--I was using 800 film in a room with only north-facing light and no flash.

BTW--note Hope Leslie Jealous-Canine in the lower right corner. She spends most of her day giving the birds the Border Collie "eye", which is why she doesn't get to spend time with the birds unattended.... It's a wonder she doesn't give them all the heebie-jeebies!

Edit: The Bird Hut got 2 baby GWs in today, just in case you wanna see some cuties. They won't be ready to go for months, yet, but they're sure cute (and tempting)!

Hi Irish! Now Lance wants another perch! Baby GW's I will have to go take a look. I love little baby birds especially macaws there baby faces are so adorable. Great perch! What a find! It looks huge up to Bob!

p.s. Your dog is the cutest ever! Thats what our Lola does. Sits there and watches every move Jack makes! I think in her head she is saying, " Fall Bird, Fall, I wanna play! Come down!"

Heyas Amber :-). Remind Lance that there are 2 events coming up--one I think April 8 at Quality Cage Co. (off SE 112th and Harold), and one at the WaCo Fairgrounds in May--that url is here: http://www.rosecityexoticbirdclub.com/expo/expo.html .
We went to the one on 122th/Harold-ish last year, and it had quite a lot of stuff, including discounted cages and perches. We'll probably see both expos, but I'm about out of room for perches and cages, so we'll probably just look. Maybe we'll catch Lance in the act of buying another perch :-).

Hope is a typical crazy BC--and she IS a pretty girl. Thank you for the kind words about her! She's also pretty typically obsessive/compulsive. Shoulda named her "Monk" :-). Annie is even worse, and the chow mix, Kiki, is the worst of all. She doesn't even get to be in the same room as a bird. I just can't trust a dog who sees a bird and starts drooling, somehow....

Hey Jim--the neat thing about the "tree" is that it only cost $249 :-). As for room--it takes up a good half of the entire living room! Totally blocks the fireplace. LOL! The people hang out on the perimeters, but the birds have one heckuva good time being party animals.
