Well I do not own the horses now my husband passed away (long story)
I keep all 4 horses for over a year taking care of them all by myself. Finally one day I realized I need to start training the younger ones to be ridden. Since I was in the middle of no where I came to the fact that this was not very smart if I got hurt there was no one around who would know. I found very good homes for all of them and miss my horses till this very day.

I grew up with horses and 4-H. Then had to let them go after high school. Now 27 years later I decided I wanted to try my hand at driving, so I bought a morgan off the internet. It has been the best thing in the world. Makes me feel like a kid again.
Starjo Lifes a journey, so make it a hayride. |

I love the beauty of horses. I have not riden one since I was in my early 20's and to tell the truth I lost interest in ridng them after watching wild horses running free....................it trully was a sight to behold and I haven't seen horses in the same light since.

I've ridden off and on for the last 20 years.
As a child, I was fortunate to be able to half board a wonderful Appaloose gelding. He was schooled in Western, English and through 2nd level dressage. A stubborn PITA but oh, how I love his big, blue eyes. I stopped riding before I entered high school but started again when I turned 25 (how's that for a b-day present). I was riding at a not-so-nice stable and working P/T at a local saddle shop for a while. I ran into an old friend (the one who introduced me the hunt seat to begin with). She and her husband had a small farm where they train and compete jumpers. I took lessons w/ her DH for a while but due to some crazy circumstances, I haven't ridden in about 2.5 years. I hope to start regular lessons w/ my friend's husband soon. In the meantime, I try to go to as many local jumper/ Grand Prix events as possible to get my horse fix. -e-

I've been riding from a very young age, but didn't get my first horse until I was 11. Jody's Star was a 22 year old Appaloosa mare. She was gorgeous and sweet. A few years later we got Chino Habebe, a 10 year old Arabian gelding. He was so beautiful it is impossible to describe. He was like a puppy, and followed us anywhere without a lead. I miss that horse so much. My dad and I were the only ones who rode, because of my mom's horseback riding accident, and when I went off to college they did nothing but hang with the sheep in the pasture. We finally sold them- it broke my heart, but they are in fantastic homes and getting ridden on a regular basis.
I miss riding, and hope to own several horses in the future.

There are no short cuts when it come to show jumping it takes MANY years of practice and lots of money.
Most riders start at an early age, before their teens. One of the most well know combinations was Ian Millar who rode a horse called Big Ben, they made history by becoming the first horse-rider combination to win back-to-back World Cup Finals. In 1988, they won the most coveted indoor title, the World Cup, in Gothenburg, Sweden. The following year in here Tampa, Florida (which I attended, what a show).
