Sophie is a nut!

I love my fids!!! There is very little that isn't absolutly adorable about these critters. Every night usually starting near 6 PM Sophie starts going to town. Just jabbering away. She is far away from actually saying understandable words yet but the form is there. Mostly tho she is just doing her own little language there. Maybe its an Ekkie thing but I swear she sounds more like a monkey then a bird. ooo ooo aaah aaah. It is so funny to hear it. I mean right out of the blue usually too. She every once in awhile lets out a yell that pulls ur head into the shell and toes curl up. But that is rare.
Meanwhile Zoey sits there and does her look at me aren't I cute dance trying to get our attention. Followed by a couple of her hellos and that cute lil squeek she does. Just as things get quiet...............Benji starts up squakin and yellin provin my point about being our loudest. Once all that settles it is cuddle time. Benji doesn't want any of that yet so we respect it. Sophie goes up on the playstation and Zoey comes over for here skritchin (and loose feather pullin while molting) which she just adores. Having her head, cheaks, and neck skritched. She even gets so into it sometimes that if I am not holding her up she falls over! Then comes the only gracefull switch of the day. The only time they don't try to eat each other. Sophie wants to be held on my chest right under my chin for a few minutes then moves to my shoulder and does her puff up thing and relaxes in. She isn't into skritches yet and very little petting. After about 15 minutes of leaning against my head and being cozy she starts.................one light nibble on my ear. She knows it tickles. She knows if she does it quickly I start laughing and turn my head. From time to time she likes to get ahold of the bridge on my nose! Something in the way it feels to her she likes to exert a bit of pressure. If I am not quick I can see this going bad. So I don't believe this game will go on much longer. I watched her eat a chicken leg the other day. She broke the bone. That bone is harder then my nose. YIKES!!! My birdies have some great personalities and no two are the same. I sure love my fids!

You are so lucky - hope no bad bites come your way after the bone demo! It has obviously got you thinking that a love bite might become more...painful.

Even my cat will bite me sometimes - looking me in the eye, saying I'm sure, "got the point yet - or want to rumble?"

LOL! Your birds sound like SO much fun! Around here, Gracie is the only one who jabbers on and on and on and on..........

But the other night, we were visiting our fav bird store, and talking with one of the employees who is a friend of ours. She had her rescued amazon there, who immediately took an intense liking to me (amazing!). That bird promptly climbed onto my shoulder and spent the next half hour talking and singing to me absolutely, positively non stop! She sang, "Do you like---RODEO?" Would love to know where she learned that! LOL! Then she expected me to say "Rodeo" after she said the first part. I have a voice just at Dolly's own singing pitch, so we had a real duet going there for awhile. And she kept saying "Hi Sweetie!" and whistling and calling for "Kitty!" and any number of other things. Silly girl had the whole store in stitches, laughing :-). I tell you, I would have taken her home in a moment. She didn't even want to get down for her person. What a night! Dolly was about the most entertaining bird I've ever met, which is saying a lot :-).

As for love nips... well, Bob is the king o'beaky. His fav game is to throw himself over on his back and grab my fingers for a "beaking session". His silly boy way of saying "I love you", I guess! Still 'n' all, I've got to figure out a way of convincing him to be a bit more gentle when he gets excited.

Jim, that was such a great visual. Thanks so much for sharing that.
My Cory is the same way - neck, cheeks, and under her chinny chin chin... Is that a Sennie thing? She will crawl down my body if my hands are in my lap and nudge her little head under my fingers for scratches. She also meows when she wants to be pet.
