met a B&G today

I was doing a home visit for one of my Dane puppies tonight and they had a 10 year old B&G. He had a beautiful built-in cabinet/cage in a corner of the front room.

He did NOT like the excitement of having a new puppy and person in the house and screamed--and screamed--and screamed. I have been thinking about adopting a macaw at some point in the future but the noise generated by that bird made me reconsider the whole idea.

They took him out of his cage and he allowed the puppy to sniff him. They put him on the ground (while the father was holding onto the pup) and he immediately charged my toes. (I was wearing flip-flops)

He really was a beautiful boy and very spoiled. They said he usually isn't loud like that unless he's excited like he was tonight. That was a whole new level of birdy loudness for me, though.

Yep, the foghorn quality of a macaw scream pales in comparison to the yell of an ekkie......The macaw will win every time in that type of contest!!! Btw, you got your hearing back yet??? LOL

I have been trying so hard to not pay attention to Gypsy's screaming. She has let some loud ones out though. Mostly when she is also over excited.

I wish I could scream that loud. Maybe the hubby would hear me then! ~giggles~
