And now we have a broken blood feather!
Yep, it's Lulu again. This is her 2nd one she's had, it's a flight feather on her right wing - maybe this was causing some or maybe all of her irritation. I'm not convinced that blood from this feather was the source of the dried blood I noticed yesterday where she has a cut (this feather is on the edge of the wing, furthest away from her body). But maybe it is one and the same but I haven't been able to get a clear look at the spot where I think her cut is.
When she was out earlier she lifted up her wing and I was able to get a good look under her wing at least and I did notice some dried blood around this blood feather. And at one point she flapped and I think banged it on something and it came right off, a clean break. She bled a lot more than when she had her first broken blood feather but we got the bleeding to stop by putting flour on it. She's a bit of a mess under that wing now with dried blood and flour and all. So this will be looked at during our AV appt. tomorrow too. And I'm keeping an eye on her to make sure she isn't bleeding anymore.
