Hey, All is well here! But Boy What a night.... I think we got about 2 hours sleep last night. Bird too! We live on a mountain range that faces another mountian and when the thunder hits it echos through the valley and it sounds worse that it really is! I think that it could have permantly scared Pebbles and Bam-Bam. Their cage is in front of a huge picture/bay window that faces the mountain. Well, at 1:00AM I went to check on them behind the sheets and I swear I saw two macaws sitting and looking at the storm and lighting in utter terror!
I've got to fix that problem! I can't put anything on the windows inside, they have torn up every thing I put there. I was wondering if anyone here has come up with a solution to window covering that wouldn't get chewed up. At the peek of the storm last night I was thinking about that and looked at covering the outside of the windows, maybe a outside blind or a cover with velcro that I put up at night. It wouldn't have stayed lastnight though the wind was too bad.

Re the window problem:
A client of mine has the most amazing metal roller blind that you work from inside like a normal pull up (with a retractable cord like a measuring tape). The blinds have 3 functions - security - shade - safety. On the outside above the window is the box/valance for the blinds. The blinds have tiny holes so it's not too much like a garage door & each panel is about 2" high. So some light does come thru - lace like. I don't know where she got them off hand, but I''ll ask the next time I'm there. At least you can start looking if this sounds like a solution. |
