Fingers Crossed for Pretty Boy

Bought Pretty Boy home from the RSPCA a couple of weeks ago to be a part of the rainbow lorrikeet aviary we finally put up yesterday. Lovely bird. Something wrong with his chest colouring he is all mottled. But very cute. Put a young lady in with him and he was great, if not a little too amorous.

Anyway have had the four pairs kept close together over the past 2 weeks so that they got some time to get to know each other. Yesterday was the big move into the big house day. The two Sydney birds made it clear straight away that they were in charge and started a few fights.

Pretty boy didnt know what to do with himself. Showed very little interest in exploring the neighbourhood, stayed in the one spot by himself near the door, looked very uncomfortable. But thought he's probably been in a cage for most of his adult life, but he'll get used to it. Went inside the house for about 15 minutes when all looked well and all settling in. Came back out and the two sydney birds had him on the ground and going for it. I guess they saw something weaker in him, whether it be his colouring, his tameness I dont know, but they wanted him gone. Pulled him out as quick as I could get a cage and myself in there. Anyway he's been listless all day. Still responsive when I talk to him and will make his phone noises. Has eaten a couple of times, but now lying on the floor of his cage and getting back on the perch and then back down. Was shaking a fair bit the last time he climbed back on his perch. Thinking the two bullies did some damage to him, I just hope he recovers cause he's such a sweet bird.
