Chilly Outside!
Took Noel and Casey outside today to get some pictures and let them roam about in the apple tree. It was too cold to do much so I just got a few pics of them instead and took them back inside where it was warmer...
Here they are, Casey, the tiel, and Noel, the conure, both puffed up! ![]() Here is the second pic, even though you can hardly see Noel because she's in the shade, Casey stands out so easily! ![]() What Casey LOVES best! ![]() I tried to see if Noel wanted a headscratch too, but as usual she didn't care for one without the company of a blanket, and besides, Casey had followed my fingers to the top of Noel's head, pecked at them slightly, then bent her head down as she wasn't done gettin her lovins! Here she is again! ![]() Just thought I'd share for now!

lovely pictures. What is the green bird? You have to excuse my ignorance but I am so used to Aussie birds, these others are just beautiful but I have a lot to learn about them. Your cockatiel is just typical heh!! They love to be loved - usually anyway.

Surprised the photos are still up! Interesting... the site doesn't allow direct linking, and thought that they might be down by now, but they still work, so that's great!
Vankarhi, the green bird, Noel, is a cherry headed conure, also called a red masked conure (though cherry head is more unique), they come from around Argentina and Peru in South America, and are aratinga erythrogenys. Aratinga has a special meaning for these larger conures.... The word "ara" means "macaw" while "tinga" stands for "little" in latin words. Casey just so happens to be the SWEETEST cockatiel that I have EVER met, and I'm not saying this just because she owns me, but because I have yet to know of one who is even sweeter! Of course she was human raised from day one so is very imprinted on humans! Thanks everyone for the comments!
