Macgillivrayi Eclectus

Anybody know anything about these Ekkies? Another board I subscribe to a guy says somebody is trying to sell him one. In Europe. Other than they are the biggest of the sub species and look like a red sided full grown I don't know anything. lol

Never buy birds over-seas.... more likely a scam!

If not, they BETTER be reputable and have errr... gosh just forgot what it's called... recommendations?

the guy lives in Europe so pretty much has to buy there. :) I haven't heard back from either. I suggested that unless he can see the paronts or other wise validate don't buy.

I do know some, not as much as Carolyn from Land Of Vos, but I am willing to help out if I can. I would tell him to look at the bird, take a picture and search the net to see what kind the ekkie is (hybrid or pure). It is getting really hard these days to find a pure breed species. So many breeders are mix matching because they do not do their research enough to know how to tell them apart. At the rate things are going, there will not be a pure breed ekkie left.

I guess the pure/hybrid thing doesn't really matter, though, unless he is wanting to breed ekkies.
