does she know she's a bird?

I was watching Scarlett outside in her cage before. She was intently watching the bluejays flying across the yard--and I started to wonder--does she recognize that she is like them? Is she watching them and understanding what they are doing or is she watching them because they are something new and strange to her?

Gypsy goes nuts when she sees or hears other birds...I think they know.
Gyps tried taken off after them when we were out on the porch this week. She called to them forever, I think they are a bad influence! lol

I put Mom's cockatiels out in the sun porch last week - too cold in the winter - & Alice was watching the wild birds at the bird feeder (which I had just filled). After a few minutes she flew to the window to get closer. Even Mo, who refuses to leave the cage, was watching them with interest.

It seemed like kids at the park - wanting to run over & say hello or get away from my turf (?).

I think because she is still a baby Sophie is just plain scared of the great wide open. Zoey pretty much pays the wild birds no never mind at all. Benji sings to them.
