Mandy, I have a Java tree for Rico in the bird room. Murray gets on it all the time and loves it. It's the right size for him but I want to order him a bigger one. The last time I looked they had one 81" tall.
Here's a photo of Rico's. I think it cost me around $600 and so well worth it. Rico's on it all the time. I got it at petstockroom.com Let me know if you'd like me to find better photos coz I know I have them on here some where. These are the best I could find for now. |

By having the one that I have, I'll give you a couple of pointers to look out for when buying one.
1-make sure branches don't fall below one another. They can be a pain to clean poop of underlying branches when it's dried. 2-especially with a larger macaw, make sure branches aren't too close to the bottom of the tree. Your bird will constantly climb down the tree and onto the floor. |

I bought a huge manzanita perch at a bird expo/fair recently--it stands 5 feet tall, 4 ft, 9 inches wide, and 2 1/2 feet deep. Double trunk perch. It cost me $249. I don't know what it would cost to ship something that big from Oregon to Maine, though. If you want me to, I can see if I can find the maker's contact info. I think Crazy Bird Lady or her husband sent it to me, so I can probably find it....
It is the most massive perch I've personally seen, with a TON of branches. Bob and Gracie love playing on it for hours, because there are also 7 or 8 toys hanging from it, plus we rotate hanging interesting things above it for them to climb on. We roll it outside and power wash it about once/week, and because it's sanded, but not sandblasted, we've wrapped the steeper sloping branches with vet wrap.

What is vet wrap??? I want to try making a stand for my Eclectus, but I don't know which type of wood I should use...should I try anything other than manzanita? Anyone here ever make one? Anyone have any ideas for one? Where do I get the poop tray/floor thing for them? Or hanging ones!!! I REALLY want to make her a hanging gym! Any ideas???
