Straw bird
This photo was posted on my board by a member having dinner in a Chinese restaurant (or perhaps Japanese, not sure). It was made out of drinking straws while they dined.

I don't read Spanish or Portuguese, so I can't tell you what it says either. It appears that he's using nothing more than a craft knife (Exacto) and simple flexible drinking straws. Reminds me of Japanese food garnishes. I think they would make wonderful Christmas tree ornaments for a small tree.

It is Portuguese. However, it sure doesn't translate well. Here's what some of it says.
Wednesday, 13 of October of 2004 Wonders with canudinhos! It saves coarse of America! Mine, much ninja this here! I would not have the capacity to make this... Very complex for my coarse mind! Toscoabraço of today goes for the Cadu that ordered these images to me!

yes... this is Brazilian Portuguese and it did not translate well because it is also a lot of teen slang.
But basically it does not tell us anything where those pictures originally came from (another person - Cadu - send it to him...) But they are so cool! Amazing what creative artistic minds can do with simple things like "little straws" (that is what the word "canudinhos" means) Beautiful work! Abracos aos meus amigos do birdboard... (hugs to my friends of the birdboard) Syrlena, the Brazilian chick, Baby Simba the cat and Kukito the noisy one...
