McCulloch Steam Cleaner

I have recently burned out my second Shark Professional steamer, so we won't be buying a third.

I got the Harbor Freight catalog last week and it featured the McCulloch MC 1275 Steam Cleaner and attachments for $89.99. I decided to take a look at the specs and do a little online comparison shopping.

The lowest price I could find on Ebay was $99.99 with another $20 to ship. Even that was appealing. However, I live about 15 minutes from a Harbor Freight store.

I was looking for a steamer with a detachable hose, lots of pressure and a large reservoir. After all, I have 10 large cages to steam plus playstands and other bird junk. This reservoir holds up to 32 ounces of water for an approximate one hour of continuous steam.

It comes with all of the normal attachments and is simply better made. I tested it today on especially filthy cages (they were TRULY disgusting) and it cleaned every one completely with the exception of the last one. I only had that one halfway completed (Chi Chi's cage) before it ran out of water. The turn around time for cooling and refilling is about 15 to 20 minutes. That was fine with me, I was pooped after an hour.

For $100, this is a good buy. I paid $89.99 plus sales tax and did buy the replacement insurance(2 year replacement). I've learned that most boilers die around the 18 month mark. I'll simply exchange it when it gets close.

You can go online at www.harborfreightusa.com. Or, you can call 1-800-663-9978.

I have had one of these for a few months also. I like it a lot & it suits my needs very well. I read several reviews online before I purchased it and they were all consistently favorable. So, count me as seconding your recommendation :)

Nancy,
I am interested in buying a steam cleaner for the bird cages and was wondering how this one is holding up. Do you still think it was worth the money?
