Usually, if there is an egg in there, you can see a bit of it by looking at the clocoa. Of course, it's not always accurate and you might be best served ( and Zen too) by taking her to the vet. I've not had to deal with any of our hens having a soft shelled egg, but we did lose our sweet Bonnie last year due to a ruptured liver, which appeared to be just her being heavy with an egg.
