Indentification
Hello, this is going to sound a bit odd I think. I met someone recently and she is from Saint Petersburg Russia. She will not tell me her nickname from when she was living in Russia ( Now lives in Texas). All she would tell me is that is was the name of a bird.
Since I can not speak Russian it is slow going in trying to find this info. If someone could at the very least direct me in the right direction it would be most helpful. Thank you in advance. Thomas |

If you want to find a bird that you've only 'seen', that's one problem & I solved it with a wonderful Encyclopedia of Birds, that my Library had. it did takes while tho.
If you have a 'name' of a bird & want to know what it looks like, that's another problem & you can go to a: Lexicon Bird search on the Web. http://www.papegaai.org/lexicon/lexen.htm http://www.arndt-verlag.com/ http://www.earthlife.net/birds/passer.html http://www.earthlife.net/birds/non-passer.html birds of Europe & N. America: - there are good photos here as well http://www.ornitologia.com/birds/index.htm Good luck |

Sorry for the confussion. No she is not a member of this board. I am looking for a site that I can look up bird names of birds that are in Russian with American names.
I know searching all of the birds from Russia trying to figure out which is her nickname is like looking for a niddle in a hay stack, but I figure why not try. Thomas |
