Eddie and Mirrors, how she likes hers!

I have seen a few comments on birds and mirrors and thought i would share my experiance.
I had a big mirror behind her cage for ages and she used to sing, cluck and pose infront of her mirror. So I bought a little double sided mirror and put it in her cage and took the other mirror away.
Well she peaked! fought with the mirror and made a hell of a racket! so I put it on the outside of the cage. Everything is cool again! now when she sees the other bird it's not in her cage, and watching her showing off to the other bird outside her cage is always cool.
Occasionally you hear her go off again, but she is always on the outside at the back of her cage fighting that bird, but it still is not in her cage! She also just climbs back up when shes happy she showed that bird who's the boss!
I believe she is enjoying having the mirror there now!

They do seem rather fascinated with their gorgeous selves, don't they? I've never seen my birds fight with their image, they just admire themselves.

This is MY mirror, not in the bird room, Tjinimin can't take his eyes off himself!

In our house thats the "other bird" her name is Flo and she lives in the bath room. If she gets too close.. there's problems. Other wise we just pin at each other and click. I never put a mirror in her cage because sen's can get attached to the mirror and not there humans.

Bob is so totally in love with that bird on the other side of the mirror that he pins, calls "hi!" in the sweetest voice, and tries to feed it. Silly fellow :-). Stoopid other bird never wants to come out and play, tho', no matter how nicely Bob asks. Poor Bob.... Hopefully Arthur's arrival will provide him with a happy playmate :-).

Bob loves me more than the bird in the mirror, though! Not only do I play with him (he wrestles on his back), snuggle with him, and allow him to beak my buttons and fingers, but I get more of his food offerings than that other blue bird :-).

Very funny guys .
Tiki - what a sweet faced bird. See she's wearing her 'teddie' so the plants don't need cleaning.
