1- is a foot toy. i have beads inside but you could easily put in a favorite treat and make the bird work to get to the treat.

2-i don't know if you would consider this one a foraging toy since the treat is "right there". but they still have to work to get to the treat.

3-this is the one I posted last week. you could easily drop your birds favorite treat inside.

foraging toy is a toy in which your bird has to work at in order to get the reward, usually a treat or food.

this is one I used to make. it's a medium/small size one. i'd hide treats inside the little cups, if you can see them.

There are some simle things you can do as well .... take some of the paper muffin cups , put treats in them and twist up the top. The first few times, let your birds see what you are doing... then hang them in their cages like toys. For larger birds you can even use small paper bags. You can also encourage foraging behavior by covering your birds' food dishes with clean paper/waxed paper/ or something simmilar and let them figure out how to remove it.

Peanuts and almonds, in the shell, are ready made foraging toys also ... just don't feed them too many or you might end up with chubby birdies.

Here are some other examples:

This site has a lot of foraging toys:

as does this one:

You can also hide treats and food in your birds' cages and play areas- just make sure that you remove them if they are something that might spoil if the birds do not find them.

I bought one of these for my conure & he likes it a lot:

I put nutriberries in it for him to dig out.

Bob has a stiff leather pouch with seams up the sides and holes a bit larger than marbles in the front. We fill it with almonds, and he has to work at those holes to get them out. The leather is very stiff, and it's quite a workout for him....

I wrap a bunch of shedded paper around a almond, stuff it in an app 2-3in piece of card board tube(paper towel, wrapping paper, or TP roll). I then wrap colored tissue paper around this and twist the ends of the tissue paper. I stuff one on these in Seymours cage amongst his toys. He has to look for the present, then open it and dig out the almond. Usually takes him all of 2 minutes or less.

A nut hidden in almost anything.
One of our X-mas presents was a coconut with holes drilled in it all over and filled with peanuts. Needless to say they didnt touch it. But maybe other birds like them.

I wrap almonds in coffee filters and twist closed. For bigger birds, buy the smallest size (I think a couple ounces) of those reusable gladware containers, put their favorite treat inside and put the lid back on. I'm pretty sure I saw them at the Dollar store.

We use empty pill bottles filled with nuts or bottle caps. Rio has a blast with them. Wash them really, really well and keep an eye out for when they break them because that can be some sharp plastic edges. More often than not, once opened the bottle is dropped or used as a water ladle.
