Tv! Tv! Tv!

I had picked up Birds USA, and they had something about putting kid shows, soaps (???), and cartoons on for your FIDs while away from work. Least to help in learning to talk. Has there been any success from this, or has your FID said something...heh..you really didn't want it to pick up? Change of tv, music, or movie habbits when around your AG's, Macaws, or Zons? :) Did any of your birds watch tv? My tiel liked nature shows and had a sick facination with people eating crunchy bugs on Fear Factor or Survivor..Watching a few people down a couple giant cockroaches always got that too-tiel giggle. :)

Is Birds USA a tv program, then? Never heard of it, I'm afraid....

The birds here love tv and music. More the music than tv, but I think Bob kinda gets into the DIY stuff on HGTV :-).

Tv

I think that is how the Blooper started talking so fast since I left the TV on for him. One of my customers did the same with her grey and her bird talks like my Blooper. He got to watch to soaps, a talk show and the news while I was gone. One night I caught him looking at the TV when Star Trek was on. I think he liked the music so on Wednesday night he got to stay up and watch that with me.

When I go out to walk the dog, or when I'm not in the livingroom for an extended period of time, I leave the TV on for Spencer. I have TiVo, so I have it programmed to record SpongeBob and Dora. Spencer watches both of those regularly. And of course, he watches TV with me when I'm home. I really enjoy "Extreme Makeover, Home Edition". I'm trying to get him to say "Move that Bus" when he sees it's on!!!

Birds USA is a magazine that I have found available at some bird stores and Petsmart/Petco.

Lori always sets the TV to the channel with Sponge Bob. I try to sneak it to Speed Channel or whatever race is on, but she doesn't want anyone to pick up DW's "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity" part. What a killjoy.

"What a killjoy” Watch it Jeffrey!...or I'll teach them to talk about you...

Okay back to the TV comments. Jeff and I just returned from a local Bird Show and we purchased a Bird Sitter DVD. I do usually leave Sponge Bob on for them but I have now found a replacement.

They are going wild for the birds on this DVD. I've been trying to teach our babies the difference between "inside voices" and "outside voices" (with very little success)...well this video just shot down ALL of my past work. They are hollering so loud at the TV my ears are ringing. It is a good show to watch...but the poor dogs are not getting any nap time with all the noise...

I don't play that one anymore for just that reason. It seemed to agitate my bird and he started screaming and squawking, when normally he's very quiet.

I have a rado on for the birds during the day, while we are at work. We don't go it for them to learn words, but instead we leave it on so they have some "entertainment".
