Floors, floors, and carpet!

Well during this long and painful wait fixin the house up should I opt to remain in Philly...I want to get rid of this old 20-year-old carpet especially in my room/birdroom/computer room..Any suggestions on what to go on to make the clean up job a bit smoother? I'm considering letting those hardwood floors come back after a twenty years absense, but wondering if it would be easier to clean up that TAG mess of wonders or to get a nice durable carpet?

We have hardwoods, and find them easy to care for. Sweep, mop, you're done :-). For bird poo that sticks, we just put a squirt of enzyme on it, wait a couple of minutes, and it mops right up. Of course, our hardwoods are sealed with polyurathane, not waxed, which might be a different story altogether when it comes to cleanup.

ok I was thinkin about this.............tile floor angled towards the center with a drain there.............................it was just a thought..........

LOL Jimpierce. I was sweeping up for the third time today right before I read your post. Hmm, maybe a drain, or a food disposal? I think my grey throws more food than she eats.
