DO you play favourites?

This is really for people who have more than one bird. I love all ten of my tiels very much but I can't help being just a little bit extra attached to Maui-he was an only child from my pets last year. We are so bonded, he waits for me to get home from work and flies to the door and chirps until I let him out for a cuddle. He only likes me, won't go to anyone else. Manu is very sweet too but he will go to anyone, very well socialized. Shaka is starting to warm up to me, the others will come if they feel like it. Maui is just a really special little guy, but I feel guilty for having a favourite.

Does anyone else have favourites?

I must confess I do. It will come as no surprise that I am partial to my macaws, but to one in particular. That's the Fabulous Margarita. She is just perfection and always has been. Sweet as sugar, smart, comical, loving and drop dead gorgeous......and she loves me back.

It's hard not to play favorites, as much as I try. Cory is a snuggle bunny and just wants to play and be pet and she flies to me as soon as I come home from work. Zen is very independent and I respect her for that, but it's harder to interact with her.

I have a favorite also and I feel terrible about it. When I only had my first big bird Jezabel, my cag, I worried about ever replacing her as the top bird. I thought long and hard about adding a 2nd bird(pionus)and then a third bird (U2) and finally the 4th (M2) and last. But as soon as Tiki the 3rd bird came home, I was trying to deny to myself that slowly she was becoming my favorite. It was immediate really she stole my heart as soon as she got here, I just didn't admit it until recently. I adore the others and love different things about each and every one of them but Tiki is very special to me.

I too have a favourite and that would be my tiel Buddy. He is the only handfed bird of my flock, thinks he's human, can speak, whistle and do other tidbits of tricks...

He's just adorable!

I too have my favorite....Oscar. He's the only one who rarely gives me a problem. He's sweet, cuddly, smart, and QUIET. The other have such attitudes and can be major pains in my booty....but that's what makes them individuals, and I love them for their personalities! But Oscar, as old as he is, still acts like he needs me and has to have me....I know he's had a troubled, turbulent, and un-just life, and I think he knows I understand him and wants to be there for me in turn. He's definately my baby.

Aww Steven, that picture brought a tear to my eye because he so looks like my Freckles that passed away some time ago.
Thanks for that, seriously, I miss him with all my heart and he was the only one in the "family" that was the other "guy". Now I'm surrounded by , ewww "Girls".
Katrin never did get to touch him or interact or anything at all. He came from an all female household and they mistreated him terribly. It took me a couple of years to get to the point that he would even let me have the honor of him climbing on me let alone touch him in any other way.
He eventually passed away after having put "under" for blood tests and never came back out.
Fatty liver disease is what did him in.
He is still with us and has his own little corner of the hallway in a case with his feathers, his favorite toy (actually he thought it was his girlfriend, if you get my drift) and the poem I wrote him upon his passing. His ashes are in a beautiful little box and will remain with us till the day we too will be naught but ash.
Anyone that does not like 'tiels is nuts, lol but that's just my opinion. :?

I have a favorite. Alaska...she's the only handfed one of mine. I feel like the other use me for a scratch every so often, but Alaska is just happy to be with me. It's so cute. When every I walk towards the door she yells at me. Like she doesnt want me to leave. Then when I get back she's chirping until I come and get her out.
