I think I have the magic perch just for you. I use it for multiple birds all the time. It will accomodate Quakers to Macaws with no problem. Go to the store and purchase a shower spring tension rod. Penney's, Walmart, Target and most of the chains should have them. Mine is even grooved. Simply set it up end to end in the shower and just add birds. I can shower up to 5 at a time on mine. By the way, I've had mine for over 25 years! So, I can vouche for their servicability.

Can you have a shower at the same time as the birds? Are they above you? How do they shower if they are up that high (above you I mean). I am curious as I would like to do the same to my shower. Don't the birds poop on you? If so I guess you just don't shower with them huh!!

Tracey:
I used to shower with the fids, but that was many birds ago. Unfortunately, the birds like a cooler shower than I. Therefore, I simply place the rod about 3 ft from the shower floor. If you are afraid they will fall, you could place it lower. Its really up to you. When I used to shower with a bird, I'd simply put her on the shower door during my soapy cycle and after I rinsed off, I'd hold her under the shower head. I now usually line them up this way: quaker, Severe, Tag and CAG and then I change them to ekkie and YNA. I shower the BGs in pairs or alone. They get pretty whacky and tend to knock each other off of the perch. They LOVE their showers. THE OUTLAW

Nancy,
That's a great idea -- I'm off to Wal-Mart this evening to get one. My guys haven't been getting showered as much as they should because I don't have a simple, secure system. Oh happy day! Joanie

Tracey, I agree with you about birds not being as big a deal here as in the USA. The local pet stores hardly have anything cool for birds (heaps for dogs and cats), I have to order stuff online or buy stuff when I travel over there from time to time.
People do have pet birds, but from what I can see, breeding and developing new mutations seems to be more the thing here. Really sad. :( It is also upsetting as to how people seem to take charming little native birds like tiels and budgies for granted and treat them as throwaway birds. Vet is too expensive so let the bird die and get a new one.

Hmm. I will try this again. Don't know what went wrong, but the last post did not post. Anyway Tiki, yes I had no idea how popular birds were until I found a couple of sites like this on the internet (this being the best one I have been on so far). Stephen and I found a good pet shop in Wishart, call Pet City. I was amazed at the stuff they had there and the size of the complex. Maybe I am a bit deprived here as we only have 2 pet shops, so not much variety. I have to admit, I have learned so much since getting Skye (and probably before) as I did a lot of research and reading before and still reading and learning. I always knew how to tame and train a bird the basic in manners and tricks, and always believed a bird should not just be a beautiful ornament (to just stay in the cage). Have always allowed my fids free time outside or just outside of the cage, but have learned so much more, it is just amazing. One of my kids, jokingly complained to me recently when I said no to one of her requests (probably wanted me to spend money on her again) and then I proceeded to buy the birds something. She said "you spend more money on the birds than on me now". We just laughed as she was joking (but it probably had some truth in it).
