This Bird Will Amaze You!

He's gotta be one of the best mimics out there--A lyrebird who will imitate anything it hears in the forest, in an attempt to attract a lady--including a Kookabura call so convincing it fools the original, a camera shutter--w/and w/out motor drive, a saw, a chain saw and a car alarm. You gotta see and listen to this!

I saw that the other month, it was David Attenborough's 80th birthday. On the UK documentary channel they showed a lot of his documentaries.

Anyway you had to vote for the best David Attenborough moment and the lyre bird won. I went on the website and made sure I voted for the lyre bird because I was truly amazed.

Has anyone seen David Attenborough life of birds, it was on back to back for a full weekend around his 80th birthday. I am so sad, I sat and watched just about every programme in the series i spent all weekend fixed to the t.v..

I found it really interesting, its worth watching. David Attenborough gets right up close to the animals when he is filming sometimes as well.

I love those specials too - sorry I missed all the specials on the 80th birthday-thing. He is still pretty dreamy at 80 don't you think? I always go for the lovely voices too .

Thanks Irish for sharing that otherwise I'd have missed it.
