How to cut a pommegranite

I know some folks have no clue what a pommegranite is, but its a great fruit to feed both humans and birds. However, its very messy and often passed by because of the mess. Here's video to show the easiest and least messy way to do it.

Thanks Nancy! That, my dear, is a very helpful hint!

I never try to "cut" it, I try to break it apart in sections like an orange.

That was pretty good. Especially if you want to open the whole thing.

For smaller pieces - I score the outside & start peeling. Once i can see a section I bend it away from the main part - it should come away fairly easily - they're a little like a chestnut; having separate chambers. THe membrane that is left seals the fruit like a plastic wrap.

I liked the idea of the bowl of water. Not only do you not get sprayed with juice, you don't have seeds all over the floor.
