Say hello and Happy Birthday to Keli!

I just had to share a photo of a GW I am hand feeding and raising for a good friend. Her name is Keli. I brought her home at 5 weeks and Monday was her 3 month birthday! It was quite eventful. She had many first time experiences that day... but the most exciting was learning that she was a bird and could fly!!! Needless to say she demolished quite a few things in the house that day, but escaped unscathed from all her "accidents". Wish I could say that for most of my houseplants and pots.

Another first for the day was learning how much fun a swing is...

Keli's beautiful! I was kind of hoping for an action shot of her in flight, complete with flying plant pots though.

I had her in the basement with us last night while we were doing some "spring" cleaning and she helped us by cleaning off a table, knocking over a box, doing a cartwheel over a chair and ended up in the laundry room in a basket. I am so glad she is tough, though I am not sure if I am tough enough to go through the whole learning to fly stage. But, she is going to remain flighted. I was thinking of trying to find somewhere more open where she can stretch those wings and gain some skills.

We will see if I can plan for a "crash and burn" photo. So far I have been caught completely by surprise with her antics.

Keli is such a sweet girl. I love it when you bring her into the Hut. Her feathers look SO much better at that age than Arthur or his sis did--it shows what a wonderful job you've done with her from day one. Fat and adorable, no stress bars. A real little beauty. Tell her guy that if he ever changes his mind, she can come here :-). Oh, wait! Bet I'd hafta fight you for her, huh? *grins*

Naw, Irish, you wouldn't have to fight me for her! She's rotten! Rotten to the core! All those Macaw babies are rotten. Naw.. just kidding. She is a doll, but I can't keep Macaws with the dust factory I have now. Otherwise I would have had me a Hy right now

When do you want to come over and remove this hunk of iron off my deck? It is MUCH cooler out now...

Pm me with your addy and a good time, though. I can't seem to find your business card on that mess we call a refrigerator! *grins* Z gets home with the Jeep around 4:30-5-ish.

Hi Lisa B.
Nice gang you have! Toos, Greys and Caiques are my kinda kids! But I love them all dearly.

Yes, Tidbit in a female albino Indian Ringneck. She is a VERY sweet kid, but still your typical Ringneck. <sigh>

Thanks Deb! The Greys are my babies....the caique is the hubbies, and any visitors that come here**LOL**
I too through my years have had an Otis, my Tag, and Cricket, a whiteface cockatiel hen.

I've had birds for over 30 years....I have never seen an albino indian ringneck. Ringnecks are illegal in NJ, so I dont have any experience with them....Good Guess huh??

shows even us old time bird owners learn new things each day....Tidbit is very pretty. Can you post another picture of her?
