Green cheek conure question

Hello,
I just got a 3mo old yellow-sided green cheek conure who is very cute.
A problem I'm noticing is that he will eat his poop off my jacket. I try to clean up most of it but there's always a spot I miss to later find him munching away.
I'm not [I]that[I] grossed out by it, but if there's anything people know to stop him, I'd appreciate it.

Rigel tries to go after his poo too, it only bothers me when I realize I eat after him. (he loves bananas and I love to share) If you can manage to take him to a specific perch to poo every 10 minutes or so, you can reduce how much he goes on you. Also, keep a box of tissues nearby so you don't have to run off to get something to clean up with. Of course mine has poo'd everywhere today... and he did try to go after it twice before I got it cleaned up.

No problem, welcome to Birdboard :) There seem to be lots of GCC folks here, they're just so adorable.

i agree with TJ Relic (did you ever tell me your name? i seem to referring to you often, so i'd almost be easier if i'd know your name LOL).... i wipe up valo's poop as soon as i see it, which of course not always is the case... but this way you can reduce the amount of poop that he has access to (and also the amount of poop that accumulates around the house). after a while you'll also be more familiar with his "pooping routine"
valo barely poops on my nowadays - he realized that i'm not happy about it, and will take him off me to clean my shoulder etc... he prefers to climb off me to poop

welcome to BB - do you have a photo of your baby?

Interesting. I have never seen either of my Conures show any interest in their droppings. I have even noticed them "foraging" at the bottom of their cage or playstands and they seem to be very adept at avoiding it.

yep- my gcc eats his poop all the time It's gross.
He has a great and varied diet, so I know he's not missing anything. I spot clean his cage all the time, but there's some on a perch while I'm gone, he'll find it. YUCK!
