Precious making progress..happy times are here

hi everyone
i have not been here for about a week. X-mas time keeps me so busy, but i wanted to give an update on my U2 (Precious)

she is doing great...lol...for you that don't know; Precious is somewhere around 12 years of age. she was mostly a pet store bird, but being sold a few times only to be returned.

she loves the men in my house but does not like me very much, anyway, we talked with kim bear and started training Precious. i just can't tell you what a difference it has made. she now loves to take showers (sings and dances the whole time) she is learning to except me as part of her flock, and even allows me to pet and play with her out of the cage now. she learned to call me mama, and to tell me she loves me.

she had a great vet visit, we are still working on her diet, but all in all she seems to be much happier.

we also got a new baby quaker that i named cortney...she is almost 2 months old. i do not let them out together ever, but when i walk up to Precious's cage with Cortney she gets all happy and says "ahh, hi baby". and she turns her head over sideways and gives a purring sound. we are taking it nice and slow.

thanks everyone for your help with my questions and i will probably have more, but i wanted to tell you all how things were going. we are going to be a great family, and everyone is going to get along slowly.

Thanks for the update!! I am glad you contacted Kim. I have no direct experience but have always heard that she is the best and this seems to reinforce that.

Keep us posted on their progress and maybe some pictures!

Hello again everyone...sorry i have not been here more, but i have to give you a new update. Precious is doing so great. i bought her a baby toy piano and some other baby toys that play music and she loves them. She plays a note and then want me to play a note. She then dances and dances. I can now take her out of her cage and clip her wings and pet her all over. She is talking so much more too. She now says "i love you mama". we have a great time playing while she takes her shower. She is really starting to trust me and i her. It feels so good.

Cortney is growing up fast also. She is mama's little baby too. She loves the under side of her beak rubbed. I can now turn her upside down and lay her in my hand, and her not be nervous. Precious loves to talk to cortney, lol, she tells her "good morning", "love you baby bird",and "good night". i still do not let them out together, but they are side by side while in thier play cages during the day.

I am going to try and put some pics up here. Hope it works. Everyone please have a great holiday, and be safe.

I'm a Courtney too, which only added to the delight I experienced from this thread. What a wonderful blossoming love story you have going on!
